What's new?
We are proud to present to you our first major release in 2022 where we focused on usability. Our new control panel has matured and is fully released. Creating control panels has never been easier. You can now run multiple Director windows, with different panels, on a single machine, allowing you to make better use of your screen real estate. We made managing multiple machines easier by providing real time diagnostics information, and bug reporting and support requests can now be conveniently done from within the Director.
We are supporting Unreal Engine 4.27.2 which is Epic Games’ last release before UE5.0
New control panel
We have put a lot of effort into improving our new control panel (experimental release in 2.1). This is another step on the journey where we would welcome your input and thoughts. If you are interested in giving feedback, sharing your use cases or contributing in general, we would love to invite you to our Control Panel slack channel! Just send an email to design@pixotope.com
In this iteration we have concentrated on ease of use. Here’s a list of new features:
Drag and drop properties onto the canvas to create widgets with actions in one go
Drag and drop properties onto an existing widget to modify it
Individual control of color parameters
Added Group background and Color picker widgets
Editing of widget properties on right mouse click
Edit multiple widgets (of the same type) at the same time
New tab shows all available exposed properties for ease of access
All properties can now be linked, not just exposed ones
Local image resources can now be used
Extended shortcuts. e.g.
Ctrl+D or alt+drag for duplicating
With this release we are deprecating the old control panel. The example control panels have been updated to the new version.

Usability improvements
We know working on a production can be a juggling act, so we’ve added 2 new features to save you time and screen space. If you’ve ever wanted to have 2 Director panels open at the same time, now you can have as many as you like. Simply Ctrl+N to open a new Director or Ctrl+click a panel in the left side menu. All new instances can now be accessed in the Windows taskbar which then also allows you to Alt+tab between them.
Use the show/hide menu icon on the top left to collapse the left side menu. This way you can optimize your screen real estate.

Enhancements to Body Pose Estimation
Body pose estimation allows for a single presenter on a green screen to interact with virtual objects without the need for any special equipment. This allows us to automatically position the compositing plane and makes it easy for you to set up gestures, actions and collisions.
We now allow to autosize the internal compositing plane with the following options
T-pose - to always provide enough space for handling fast movement and hand action covering the maximum extent of the body
Tight - for smaller greenscreens we provide a plane that closely follows the detected body with a small margin around to ensure it doesn’t clip
Off - no autosizing, manual sizing
Additionally we rotate the internal compositing plane towards the camera by default

Diagnostics panel
This is the first version of our real-time system monitoring and diagnostics tool.
Once the diagnostics service is running, you can monitor the health of critical hardware parameters on all your machines in a Pixotope network. We have set default warning and error thresholds which you can adjust according to your hardware and needs.
