Sensor Mounting
Mounting the tracking sensor rigidly to the studio camera is essential for achieving consistently precise tracking data. It ensures that the sensor maintains a consistent position relative to the camera. This consistency is essential for virtual production, where precise alignment of virtual and real elements is required. Even tiny shifts in the sensor's position can lead to imprecisions, affecting the final output.
For this reason a high-quality mounting piece made of metal should be used that fits to your camera.
Rods
Mounting rods are an option for attaching the sensor unit with the help of the Pixotope T-mount bracket. This bracket is designed for the standard size of 15mm in diameter. Mounting rods are usually attached to a base plate or a cage that surrounds the camera body and therefore can be available above or below the cameras lens.
Side-of-Lens Mount
The sensor unit comes with an Arri rosette mounting interface on the side of its case. An Arri rosette is a circular connector that allows a secure anti-twist attachment. That way the sensor unit can be mounted at the side of the cameras lens. If the camera itself does not provide an Arri rosette interface, it can be added for example with an attachment to the rods.
Cold Shoe Top Mount
Pixotope provides a custom made adapter that allows mounting the sensor unit to the cold shoe mount on the camera top handle using the T-mount bracket.
Mounting Bar
Pixotope provides a custom made mounting bar, that the sensor units T-mount bracket can be attached to. The bar’s cutout can be used to fix it with two screws to a top handle for example.
